Test System & Component Design
Save Money With A Custom Design Solution
When you are building a test system there is often a need to compromise on the specifications or costs due to the lack of a suitable off the shelf component. This phenomena is most noticeable when you have to interface your product to the resources available in the test system. Other times a suitable resource for the test system is not quite right. Either way, Digalog can solve your problem with our in-house design capabilities.
Digalog's long experience of ATE systems, offers the one stop convenience and capabilities to design and manufacture custom components such as PCBs, PXI cards, electronic modules or metalwork. Our accurate documentation of these custom components allows easy reproduction, making it a cost efficient design that will become part of your standard test set.
Test System and Test System Component Design uses the Test Statement Of Work, along with the designers knowledge, to choose the architecture and components of the test system.
The designer has a large selection of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) to choose from. In addition there are a number of choices for the programming language and sequencing architectures to choose from. All of the instrumentation and computing devices chosen need to function together as a system. In addition, there may be other handling and probing devices that have to be chosen along with a control method.
However, the designer may find that there is not a suitable choice for some components of the Test System. In this case the Test System Component will have to be of a custom design. This often happens in the case of unique features of the product.
The output of Test System Design and Test System Component Design process is the Bill Of Materials and supporting documentation for the Test System. Supporting documentation may include such things as schematics and PCB artwork.
